The Kanooth Times: Grandma and Auntie in town

Right before the blizzard in Kansas City we had some visitors come. Leif's Mother and sister came in on Friday January 30th and stayed for a whole week! They were both so excited to see the twins and spoil them!! And we had such a fun time together.

Friday.... we played with the babies and make homemade pizza (pesto/ceser yum-yum.)
Saturday ... went to Union Station and looked at the trains. Micah LOVED watching the train go round and round. He is defiantly all BOY.

Sunday.... went to Liberty Jail and the Kansas City Temple Site. Both sites were comforting and much needed. I can't wait to see the temple finished in Kansas City.

Monday... introduced Lairen to "Boot Camp" at the YMCA then went swimming with the babies. For lunch we introduced Lairen to Kansas City BBQ. Grandma and Auntie then bought the twins some new toys and we ended the day playing.

Tuesday .... witnessed the Midwest Blizzard that resulted in 9 inches of snow. We therefore had a fun day INDOORS. Lairen and I made bows. Grandma and I made homemade soup and rolls. Then we all did an art project with the babies and made little feet/hand prints on canvas.

Wednesday.... had to stay indoors one more day. Our neighbor let us borrow their Wii and it was a life-saver. Our favorite game was "Are you smarter then a 5th grader" and we found out that we are NOT! But it was a fun easy day that ended in going to the gym.
Thursday.... we got to get out again!!! And a full day is what we had!! We went to Independence where we saw the RLDS temple along with the visitor center. We also went to the National WWI museums. When we were at the LDS visitor center Savannah taught me a sweet lesson. As we walked into the building Savannah's eyes went right to the saute of Christ. She kept her eyes locked on the Savior for the longest time. I asked the missionary to play the narration of Christ talking. As it played Savannah moved her eyes from Christ face to mine and continued to smile at the both of us. Seeing Christ's face made Savannah so happy. Her smile never left her face as did the gaze she had on the Savior. She knew who Christ was and she was so happy to see his face. She taught me that Christ truly does make us happy.

Friday .... Lairen and I had a date day. We went the Nelson-Adkins Museum were we looked at paintings from old Egyptian to Contemporary. We then went to the Miniature-Toy Museum. This museum had tons of old doll houses and old toys. It also had the largest marble collection. But my favorite room was the barbie room. Barbie was started in 1956 and there was a Barbie from every year. Lairen and I then got to step into barbies shoes (it was so uncomfortable!!) and write letters to barbie.
