NEW NEWS!!!!

Are you wondering why these two babies are so happy??????
Micah is smiling because he got a new helmet today. He is excited to wear his helmet 23/7 so his flat spot will round out, and he is excited for Mommy to decorate his helmet so he will look stylist. Micah hasn't once complained about wearing his helmet. He does try to scratch his head and gets confused when he feels the helmet, but he is such a good sport. And he is so cute with it on.
Savannah is smiling because her mommy is tricky and is pretenting to be pregnant. Her Mommy likes to trick people on April Fools Day. Mommy told everyone that she hasn't been good about taking her birth control and thought she wouldn't get pregnant because she was nursing. But Mommy took a test last week because she wasn't feeling normal, and was totally surprised. We go to the doctor April 12, but we think we are somewhere between 6-8 weeks along.

The twins in the background are looking forward to being Mommy's big helpers. (Yes, I am sticking out my belly, because yes I am not really pregant)

Playing Babies

I now wonder why I buy baby toys. All kids want to play with is whatever Mommy and Daddy play with. Both our children love playing with cell phones, remote controls, and cooking utensils.

Daddy Time

Leif has been coming home from work earlier this month. It has been so nice to have him her during the afternoons. The twins get so excited when they see Daddy come in the front door. They both wiggle their bodies, move their arms, smile wide and reach up waiting for their Daddy to pick hold them. It is the sweetest thing ever. Daddy then gets on the floor with them and we all play together.

Largo, Florida

We will be moving to LARGO, FLORIDA for residency. Leif will be doing internal medicine at Largo Medial Center. We are very excited for this new chapter in our lives. We are sad to be moving farther away from our families and away from our great friends in Kansas City. But we are excited for the warm weather, sandy beaches, sunshine, and a new experience.

Largo is on the Pinellas peninsula, the western boundary of Tampa Bay. Between Clearwater and St. Petersburg on the above map.

St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day 2011 was a lot of fun, thanks to our good friends. The day started out with all us 4th years finding out where we matched to. And we matched to Largo, Florida!!! It has been a lot of fun telling our friends and family about our move. Most people say, "we will come visit you!"
After babies naps we went down to Loose Park with the Washburns. There we feed the ducks, played botchy, along with couples tennis. I love parks, and will really miss the great parks we have here in Kansas City.
On the way home we went to Costco and got some GREEN food. We then had dinner with the other 4th years and ate a lot of GREEN goodness. We also had salmon, but I didn't take a picture because it wasn't green. Jessie also made some really good GREEN cheesecake.

I will really miss my 4th year girls.

What's new with Micah ?

When people ask what is new, I now say... Micah!!! He has 2 NEW teeth. With his new teeth he is willing to bit on everything. His new favorite thing to eat are apples and bananas. He will chomp down on the banana till there is nothing left, and suck all the juice out of the apple. I know I am the mother... but he is just so cute with her new teeth.

Sick Babies

Thursday Feb. 24th Micah started to get a runny nose, but I didn't think anything of it because he is always getting runny nosies. Friday he woke up with an even more runny nose, a deep cough, watery eyes, small fever, and diarrhea. He couldn't keep anything down and he didn't sleep for more than 30 minutes at a time. The only thing that would keep him calm was being rocked by Mommy. So all of my plans for the weekend went away as I held Micah ALL day.
Friday night Leif and I brought up the pack-and-play and we had Savannah sleep in it, away from Micah. This was the first time that the two of them haven't slept together, and I believe they knew it, because Savannah was so patience with Micah. I believe she understood that he needed Mommy's attention and she did a great job of playing by herself most of the day.
Saturday Micah only got worse. He was coughing most the day, breathing really fast, congested in both nostrils, and wining every minute. So, we said our nightly prayer and found Micah hadn't gotten any better over the night. Sunday morning Leif gave Micah a priesthood blessing and blessed your little immune system to fight off the infection. During church he took 2 naps and started drinking more. By the end of the day Micah was smiling and sitting up on his own.
Monday morning Micah was 100 times better and his cough was almost gone. I know that the Lord is mindful of a 15 pound little boy. God knows who each of his children are and loves them. He loves my little Micah and through the priesthood power blessed him. I am so thankful that God knows us and won't let us suffer anything we can't handle.

Then Monday morning Savannah woke up sick. She had a really bad runny nose and watery eyes. What makes it worse it that she rubs her nose and then her eyes, so her eyes are all snotty. Tuesday - Thursday are all about the same. Savannah still has a cold and wants to be held all the time, while Micah patiencly waits for his sister to get better. It has not been a total of 7 days were we haven't left the house. Hopefully by the weekend our home will be normal again.

V-Day

Valentine's Day. Saturday morning Leif and I both did our own work-outs and then brought the twins over to our neighbors house. We have these sweet new neighbors without kids. They love to watch our babies and even volunteered so we could have a date.
Leif and I then went to The Olive Garden and had a really nice dinner. I truly enjoyed having a meal with no babies wanting to be held and then grabbing at your plate. Leif and I had a really nice conversation and we enjoyed the bread sticks and salad. After lunch we went and bought my valentines gift, "new running shoes". It was the best gift ever because it was just what I needed (not wanted). We then walked around Zona Rosa and got some yogurt at this new place called Yogertinni. It was a wonderful afternoon with my sweet husband. I truly appreciate all the memories we have shared together. He is a wonderful man and I am so happy that I married him.

Babby sitting

On Feb 7th and 8th I watched our good friends babies while their mother went to work. At first I was really worried about watching 4 kids, all under the age of 4. On day one there was a time where I was feeding Micah, Norah was attached to my neck, while Savannah fell over and started to cry, and then Jane fell off the couch and wanted me to console her. I now know why you have children one-at-a-time. I also appreciated my mother more for having 7 children!!
But in the end the day went by really fast and we all enjoyed ourselves. We had a fun time making cookies, painting our nails, reading books, watching movies, and just playing together. In the picture below you will find them all sleeping. It was a game Jane make up called, "time for bed". She made everyones bed and then they went to sleep. After about 2 minutes of "fake sleeping" they would do it all over again. That is now my new favorite game.

bath time sitting up

Feb 9th was a big day in our home because.... the twins can now take a bath sitting up!!!! This is a huge deal, because it means Leif and I only have to give one bath ready instead of two!! Bath time used to take 10 minute per baby. Now they share the tub and goes by so much faster. I love it that our babies are finally sitting up.
