Home Again

We have been home in Kansas City for 2 weeks now. The first week was difficult. I would hear a baby cry and realize that my mom wasn't here to help anymore. I was not use to changing 2 diaper, feeding 2 mouths, washing 2 bodies, and rocking 2 babies. It really really was nice to have the help of family members back in Washington.
The first thing I did when we got home was try to put the babies on a schedule. But Micah and Savannah are really turning into individual people. Micah takes cat-naps throughout the day and Savannah will take one LONG nap in the afternoon (3 hours long). Savannah loves solid food and Micah gets frustrated when he sees a spoon. Savannah wants to drink every 3 hours and Micah could eat every 30 minutes if I let him. I feel like they are never asleep at the same time!! So I never get to sleep! But then I do enjoy my one-on-one time with each baby.
All-in-all it is nice being back in Kansas City and being together as a family. Leif works most days until 6:00. He comes home and we eat dinner and then play together as a family. My favorite part of the day is getting the kids ready for bed (with Leif) and then tucking them in. They are so sweet when they sleep. And then I love to sleep too.

More fun time in Vancouver

Halloween and the Blessing were the highlights of our trip to Vancouver. Yet, we had a lot of fun inbetween. The babies loved being held by their Aunt, Uncles, Grandparents, and cousins. The babies hardly ever touched the floor! We enjoyed home-cooked meals, movies, walks and just being together as a family.

Blessing Day

October 31 was a special day because Micah & Savannah were both blessed in our church. They were both given a blessing from their father. And he gave both the twins such wonderful and individual blessings. The spirit was strong during both the blessings. And both twins were quite and peaceful during their blessings.

Leif blessed each baby with many blessings. Micah, was were blessed to be a strong, spiritual leader, one who can take his place in leadership rolls. He was blessed to be spirally minded along with recieving a good education.

Savannah, was blessed to have a strong personality. She was blessed to be a positive influence on others around her. Her influence on others will change lives, as she will be a beacon of light. She was also blessed to be a wonderful mother in Zion.

I am so proud to be their mother. And Leif is so proud to be their father.

Pre-Haloween

Halloween lasted 3 night this year. Our family went to a Trunk-or-Treat party on Friday night and a carnival/Trunk-or-Treat on Saturday night. We were all tired out by Sunday night that we just stayed home and passed out candy. This was my first year having kids to dress up!!! And it was so much fun picking out little costumes for them. It was also my first year having Halloween with all my nieces and nephew. It was so much fun to see each of them getting excited over candy and costumes.

Savannah was a flower. She loved to put her little hands together and stand up, making her look like a real flower. Micah was a pumpkin. He had a really cute had and gloves that went with his outfit. I was a witch with Aunt Becky. But we were good witches!! And we all had a wonderful Halloween weekend.

Meeting the Kanooth Family

The Babies and I got into Vancouver around 9:00 a.m. They were both wide awake and ready to play with their Grandma and Grandpa Kanooth. And that is what we did most of the day!!! Aunt Lairen came home from work early just to see the twins. She loved holding little Micah and walking around with crazy Savannah. Grandma loved feeding both babies and watching them grow. Grandpa enjoyed bouncing the twins and talking with them.


In the evening Aunt Katie came over with her 4 children (Lauren, Audry, Racheal, and Thomas). This was the first time meeting cousins for Micah and Savannah. And they loved their cousins. I could tell they really loved the excitement.

The very next day the twins and I went to Aunt Andera's house for their first sleep over. Cousin Ally was so so so excited to meet the twins. She got attached to little Micah and did a great job feeding, burping, changing, and playing with him. Cousin Kaitlyn got attached to little Savannah. Savannah was like a live baby doll for Kaitlyn. We had a really good time with our Aunt and cousins. The babies had so much fun and did so well on their first sleep over ever!!

Train Ride

On Monday morning (Oct 25th) at 2:45 a.m. we boarded the train!! Both babies sleeping when the train left, and slept until 6:00 a.m. Savannah was the first to wake up and Mommy feed her breakfast. Savannah and Mommy then looked out the window until Micah woke up at 7:00 and wanted breakfast too. I then held both babies on my lap and we all looked out the window together. Savannah loved it. Her little eyes were so big as you looked at the new scenery.

Then about 9:00 a.m. our train stopped in Vancouver, Washington where Grandma Kanooth came to meet us. She was so excited to see how big the twins had gotten. And they were both excited to see Kanooth Grandparents as well.

Fun times in Spokane

Living with my parents for 6 weeks really was a nice treat. It was fun having lunches with old friends and seeing Beth take care of her triplets. It was a relief knowing that I only have 2 babies not 3. It was relaxing shopping, talking and playing with my mom during the days. It was crazygoing on rock-climbing, and hiking adventures with my dad. It was an adventure steam-cleaning and painting with my mom. It was wonderful seeing extended family and making new memories with them.

6 weeks in Spokane went by a lot faster then expected. I thought that 6 weeks was going to be long, but it wasn't long enough. I had so much fun introducing my babies to old friends and relatives. I had a blast going from morning runs and leaving the babies with my Mom. There were so many friends that I reconnected with, had lunch with and just hung out. I truly enjoyed my visit. But most of all I enjoyed the help from both my mom and dad.

My Dad loved holding the twins when he worked on the computer. My mom would hold, talk, and tickle both the babies throughout the day. Any time a baby cried, I knew one of my parents would tend to them. I never had to worry about my babies getting attention, because they got it throughout the 6 weeks. We will all miss Spokane.
