Leif's Birthday

On April 24th, my sweet husband turned 31. He hates me making a big deal of his birthdays and he hates surprises. So, I did what any wife would do... threw him a surprise birthday party!!!
Friday night I told Leif that he was mine at 5:30 and that was final. In his room I placed a birthday note with instructions attached to an outfit he had to wear, a blindfold he had to put on, and a sign that read "Birthday Boy" which somehow never got around his neck. After he put on his outfit, I make him get into our car and place the blind fold over his eyes. He was a good sport about the blind-fold, but kept on peeking during the whole drive. So, I drove him in circles for being such a bad sport!!
In the end our car pulled up to a near-by park. Five of our close friends were already there waiting to surprise my honey. Leif saw them before we got out of the car, but I believe he was surprised deep down inside. In the end we had a great time talking, eating, and just hanging out. Thanks Jessie for cooking all the hamburgers. And thanks Kaus, Shepards, Washburns, Bakers, and MaClintoks for all coming.
On Leif's real birthday I had planned to have a romantic picnic before we went to a stake play. But it rained all day so I had to improvise. Our picnic blanket was therefor placed across the living room floor with plastic plants and cups. Leif had no idea that when I asked him to come down for lunch we were going to have a picnic!. We ate homemade chicken-noodle-soup, with home make egg-noodles, homemade rolls, juice and strawberries (his favorite fruit).
I then gave Leif his present. He got a letter and 2 shirts from me. Our twins also got him a gift. They both wrote him a note and gave him a outfit for themselves. Happy 31st my sweet husband.

Last Day of Teaching

April 16th, 2010 was my very last day of teacher. I honestly don't know if I will ever return to teaching in the future, but it has been a wonderful 6 years of my life. I have enjoyed every year I taught and I have enjoyed my wonderful array of students. Each student will bring a smile to my face when I think back to them. Memories over the past 6 years will always be a highlight in my life. Teaching children truly is the best job out there. I am thankful I had the chance to change so many lives. I am thankful for the different curriculum's that I taught and information I learned. It was so nice to have an occupation where knowledge was the main point. I really learned a lot and in turn teach so many different things.

But for now, my new chapter is to be a mother and teach these every moving twins. I can't wait to teach them about Jesus, love, sharing, and everything else that comes with being a mom.

I will differently miss my students and employees. But I anticipate my babies even more.

Easter 2009

Easter weekend was truly an enjoyable weekend, due to having General Conference, good weather, town homes full of friends, and free tickets to the movies. Together Leif and I enjoyed; Free movie tickets, Easter egg hunts, finding baskets, dying eggs, a tastly waffle breakfast, a wonderful ham & potato dinner, playing catch with friends, just being together and our course...... listening to general conference. I truly love our sweet prophet. Brother Monson tells the best stories and is so honest. We have a wonderfully run church.

April Fools Day!!!!

Growing up, April Fools Day has always been one of my favorite adventures. As a child my mother would always find some trick to play on us, and we would do silly tricks back. The older we got, the trickier and more thought out our tricks became.

When I got married to Leif, he automaticly became the person who I would trick each year. Well, this year now qualifies as my best fool ever!! In order for this years trick to work out perfect, I had to wait until the end of the day. It was really hard for me to be quite about April Fools Day so long. I didn't say anything about tricks all day hoping that Leif would forgot about it. Then as I was cooking dinner I started concocting my plan.

I first got out a zip-lock bag and mixed water, milk, and orange Gatorade. Then I placed this concoction in my underpants and called Leif down for dinner. Leif and I both planted food onto our plates as I pretended that I was having a small contraction. As Leif walked over to the dinner table, I quickly opened a small slit in the zip-lock bag. Therefore as I stated to walk over to the table "my water broke!" This funny colored liquid stated to run down both legs and onto the floor. It looked so real! And I was a great actor who pretended to be in complete shock. Leif looked at the water braking, I don't know what he was thinking but his face was worried. My sweet husband, who never swears, said a bad word under his breath as he helped me over to the couch. I kept think that I was getting milk all over the carpet as I sat down on the living-room floor. Leif then darted upstairs and started running around. He quickly got dressed, grabbed his wallet, got his car keys and cell phone. I yelled at him to hurry up and get me some new pants. Leif approached me with new pants and started to help me get redressed. As he was sweetly putting new pants over my feet, I took the zip-lock bag out and yelled, "April Fools".

Shocked Leif then look my pants threw them across the room, told me that I needed to clean up my water mess and went into the kitchen to eat. He then wouldn't talk to me for a what seemed like a very long time.

I then realized that my Aprils Fools joke really was a mean joke. I want to tell Leif that I am sorry for my mean joke. I shouldn't have played a trick that played with our emotions.
