A Wonderful Friday

Leif class load is a lot lighter this summer. In fact he doesn't have classes on Mondays or Friday. And I so much love having him home. Friday June 26th we spend the whole day together and had a wonderful time.

Our day started out by waking up really early (6:45 a.m.) and driving over to the Winter Quarters Temple. We went through the temple and had a wonderful time. After we left the temple we headed over to a nearby park and had a picnic. We ate peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, apples, bars, cheese-its and fruit snacks. Yum-Yum.

Our next stop was the Historic Kanesville Tabernacle at Council Bluffs. The First Presidency of the church was sustained there in 1847. In December of 1847, 200 men constructed this large log structure in less than three Weeks. It was built to accommodate about 1,00 people for the sustaining of the First Presidency with consisted of Brigham Young, Heber C. Kimball and Willard Richards.

We then drove home just in time to make it to our Ward BBQ Party. The activity committee did a great job and we had a lot of fun eating hot dogs, playing kick-ball, getting into water fights, making smores, lighting sparklers, and just hanging out with our friends. It was a very humid day but very fun.
